We have had a busy year here at Anderson Independent, with arrival of our two newest team members Austin our Cavapoo puppy and Wiggie our Poodle from the Poodle rescue centre at the tail end of 2014, who have both become invaluable members of the Anderson team, they come to work every day Austin knows every single dog that walks passed our front door and greets everyone with his big puppy dog eyes. Wiggie, the more refined poodle is a bit more cautious, but seems to have a sense of who needs her attention. We have so many people commenting on how much they like having the two dogs here and it is such a comfort to them, we believe it adds to the homely atmosphere that we have cultivated here. We had one family recently even go and buy a Cavapoo.
Back in January of this year, which seems only yesterday we had the official opening and dedication evening for our Funeral home in Whitby. We love it here; we have a much bigger building, which makes it even more comfortable for our families. Private parking directly in front of the office, and further room to expand over the coming years.
Then in April all work was finally completed and we officially closed our Little Sutton office. We were sad to leave the village but have continued to support the Churches, and community groups within the area and will carry on doing so. With all of our team being in the same office means that we are able to manage the day to day tasks quicker – enabling as much time as possible to be free for families to be able to walk through our door, to a warm welcome, with no doubt they will be given time and service they deserve. Where we can do what we do best, which is to help in whatever way we can, advise and provide lasting support to each and every person we care for.
Buckley Memorials also moved in next door, this makes it so much easier for clients to receive a full service, from the first call to the final placing of memorial stones. It is nice to have the show room close by, clients have really appreciated being able to pop in and see the quality, and workman ship that goes into the memorials.
We have as always been working in the background for some local charities, or biggest event this year was the Hospice of the Good Shepherd 5K Colour Run. We sponsored the run and provided the t-shirts. We donated £2500, most of the Anderson team took part in the race, raising their own individual sponsorship too. All had a very messy day, powdered paint covered everyone.
We also sponsored a charity called Rocky’s feet. This is a charity set up by a lady, who lost her son. It is in place to help parents grieving for their children to afford memorial headstones. This is directly connected with the Wave of light candle lit event that takes place every year in October at 6:45pm This year £300 was raised which will be donated to a charity Rocky’s Feet -. We were proud to be the sponsor of this event, and we will continue to do so as it grows through the years. It is such a comfort to so many people to remember their children.
We are again as we are every year a drop off point for the Samaritans shoebox appeal. The boxes as always came in quick and fast. We have a few that missed the deadline unfortunately so we will transfer them to a more local charity.
Team Anderson is looking forward to the new year, we have lots of new ideas for fundraising for the local area.
