ARRANGING A FUNERAL

Losing someone you love is one of the hardest things you'll ever go through, and arranging their funeral can feel overwhelming, especially if it's something you've never had to do before. You don't need to know what to do. That's what we're here for.

 

At Andersons, we'll guide you through every decision, at your pace, with no jargon and no pressure.

 

You can call us any time, day or night, on 0151 357 2671. We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, whether your loved one has passed away at home, in hospital, or in a care home.

 

When you first call, it helps if you have the following to hand (though don't worry if you don't — we can sort this together):

 

- The name of the person who has passed, and where they are currently resting

- Their date of birth

- Whether a doctor or the coroner has been involved

- Any details of a funeral plan, if one was already arranged

 

We'll then arrange a time for you to come and see us

 

Meeting With Us

 

When you come in to arrange the service for your loved one, we will talk about;

 

- The type of service, a religious or civil ceremony, a service at a local crematorium, burial, a woodland or natural burial, or a smaller, unattended cremation.

- The venue, a church, crematorium, or another location that feels right for your loved one

 

- Burial or cremation and what that means practically

​

- Transport, our traditional hearse, or a specialist vehicle reflecting a hobby, career, or interest.

​

- Flowers and other personal touches that make the day feel truly theirs.

​

- Costs, explained clearly and in writing, with no hidden extras

 

There's no need to decide everything in one sitting. We'll take things step by step.

 

What Happens Next

 

Once we've talked through your wishes, we take care of the practical steps on your behalf, including:

 

- Bringing your loved one into our care

- Booking the crematorium, cemetery, or church

- Coordinating with celebrants, ministers, or officiants

- Arranging transport, flowers, and printed orders of service

- Guiding you through registering the death, if you haven't already

 

We'll stay in touch throughout, so you always know what's happening and what, if anything, we need from you.

If A Funeral Plan Is Already In Place

 

If your loved one had already arranged and paid for their funeral with us, or with another provider, let us know when you call. We'll take care of the details and make sure their wishes are carried out exactly as planned.​
